How long will this course take to complete?
The average time to
complete this course is about 25 hours.
How comprehensive is this course?

designed to train new members completely in the field of
Paranormal Investigation. It discusses aspects of paranormal
investigations that are not commonly taught elsewhere, such as
the critical and direct relationship the Investigator's own
self-concept and beliefs have on the results obtained.
Is an instructor available if I need help?
Yes! Once you have
purchased the course, you will be given a link to a password
protected website called the Online Resource Library.
This Library contains all of the full-color pictures, videos,
and audios presented in the course pages. In addition, help is
available from the author directly.
Can't I just do my own online research and learn the same
information?
Yes and no. Of
course, you can certainly do your own research online--which can
take a long time sorting out the abundance of information on the
net, which may or may not be factual (believe us, we've done
it!). And then you have to know what information actually
applies to the realities of paranormal research, and that takes
experience. This course contains the field experience of many
investigators as well as the author's proprietary information
that is simply not available elsewhere. These facts combined
with a fresh "think for yourself" approach, will help you to see
and understand the paranormal field in an entirely different
way,
What is the final exam like?
Because this is a
serious and comprehensive paranormal investigation course, the
exam is also serious and comprehensive. The final exam is taken
online (see example on right), and is open book (how could we
enforce a closed book exam?). It involves 125 multiple-choice
and true/false questions, and includes reviewing evidence from
real investigations. Passing score is 90% or higher. If you fail
the first time, you can re-take it up to two additional times
(for a maximum of three times total; additional retakes after
three are $10 each). As part of the final exam, you will perform
your own investigation (even if it's in your own home) and
submit a case report, which is not graded but is required for
the exam. Yes our standards are high, but we want to provide all
graduates with a basis to be proud of their accomplishment, and
we want to set a high standard in the field.
What does the certification mean?
Upon successful
completion of this course, you will receive your Certificate of
Completion, ID card, and ID Badge via email, which you can then
print out and frame. You will then earn a Certified
Paranormal Investigator (CPI) designation from ParaNexus
which certifies that you have completed a comprehensive course
on paranormal study, and have demonstrated competence in
performing paranormal investigations and related activities. You
may then add the “CPI” designation after your name. You will
also now be eligible to upgrade your ParaNexus membership to the
"Certified Member" level.
How can anyone "certify" somebody in the paranormal field, as
there are no experts?
It is customary
among some well-known names in the paranormal field to criticize
any paranormal "certification" course. However, the time has
come when there is simply too much to know to effectively get it
on your own in a reasonable time period. Such things as the
effective methods of conducting an investigation, client
interaction, obtaining and reviewing evidence, and what
constitutes acceptable evidence are built on experience. For the
newcomer to the field--and many who are currently doing
paranormal research--the info-overload can be tremendous. This
course was designed to shorten and simplify the learning curve.
And for that, a certification course is justified. It is common
and accepted for such fields as Hypnosis, Reiki, and Homeopathy
to have certification courses. Parapsychologists have been
getting undergraduate degrees in Parapsychology for years. It is
now time to bring professionalism and dignity to what is
essentially the same thing as Parapsychology. Another huge
advantage is perceived credibility with clients who are looking
for competent investigators to help them. Certification lets our
clients know that we are serious about what we do, and not just
"ghost hunters."
Is this course accredited?
Currently, no
academic institution accredits paranormal investigation courses.
Since this course was designed to be a comprehensive and high
quality study of the field of Paranormal Investigation, this
course is accredited through the ParaNexus Academy.
Accreditation is in accordance with the guidelines set forth by
The
International Association for Continuing Education and Training
(IACET). Accreditation
adds to the credibility, professionalism, and respectability of
the student who successfully passes this course. Hopefully more
academic institutions will begin to accredit paranormal
investigation courses as the field matures and humanity’s
understanding and acceptance of unexplainable events evolves.
2.5 CEU’s are awarded to students who successfully complete this
course with a passing score. Please Note: Continuing
Education Credit (CEU) approval is at the discretion of your
academic institution or licensing board; not all educational
courses are approved by all institutions and boards, which is
common in the academic world. An official permanent transcript

No, each person must
enroll in (purchase) the course if they want to become
certified. This is no different than colleges who won't allow
several people to get a degree by a single person enrolling.
